Georgia Birthers are trying to keep the sitting President of the United States from being on the ballot in Georgia.

Rep. Mark Hatfield
Mr. Kevin R. Powell of Duluth, Georgia announced today that he has filed with the Office of Secretary of State Brian Kemp a challenge to the placement of the name of Barack Obama on the Georgia ballot for the Presidency of the United States of America. Submitted to Secretary Kemp’s office as of November 28, 2011, Powell’s challenge has now been referred to the Georgia Office of State Administrative Hearings for further proceedings. The case is styled Kevin Richard Powell v. Barack Obama, and the Office of State Administrative Hearings’ Docket Number is OSAH-SECSTATE-CE-1216823-60-MALIHI.
Powell’s challenge to Obama’s placement on the Georgia ballot is based upon the contention that Obama does not satisfy the “natural born Citizen” requirement of Article II, Section I, Clause 5 of the United States Constitution. Obama’s father, Barack Obama, Sr., was a native of Kenya and a British subject who never became a United States citizen.
Powell will be represented before the Office of State Administrative Hearings by attorney J. Mark Hatfield (State Representative) of the law firm Hatfield & Hatfield, P.C. in Waycross, Georgia.

In related economic news, no new businesses want to move to Georgia because they feel the workforce, as represented through the people they elect, are absolutely crazy and believe conspiracy theories.

Dear Mr. Hatfield
Your latest docket is another example of your inept attempt and leadership. At a time when so many Georgians need jobs, you are wasting taxpayer dollars and the legal system’s time on this ludicrous lawsuit. President Obama is our President whether you and your bigotry will ever accept this fact. His mother is a natural born U.S. Citizen as is he. But that is beside the point at this juncture. Where were you when John McCain was running for President? He didn’t meet the criteria of a natural born U.S. Citizen. But I guess since he’s white we let that one slide as with all the other previous 43.
I personally, as a lifelong Georgia resident, born in Jesup, Georgia am embarrassed to have you as a representative of my home state. When I visit home, I still see the visible lines of segregation and “comfortable separation” between the white, black and Latino communities. I want change, and getting my family and friends across the south to vote you out is now a must if Georgia is ever going to move forward from your legislation that has set us back fifty years.
Regards
Andy Barwick
@ABAR You’re going to need a lot of help to oust an idiot like this.

I am ashamed to live in this state.
I need this explained to me. None of our founding fathers parents were born in the United States. For that matter, none of our founding fathers were born in the United States either. That is what makes them founding fathers. I think the first five presidents were not born in the United States. I have either missed something, or this will be just another huge embarrasment for Georgia
The Constitution Addresses this:
No Person except a natural born Citizen, or a Citizen of the United States, at the time of the Adoption of this Constitution, shall be eligible to the Office of President; neither shall any Person be eligible to that Office who shall not have attained to the Age of thirty five Years, and been fourteen Years a Resident within the United States.
In other words, you either had to be a citizen at the time of the adoption of the Constitution or be a natural born citizen. This is why the founding fathers could run for office – because they were citizens at the time of adoption of the Constitution.
It should also be noted that America existed before the Constitution. Officially, the United States of America was founded under the Article of Confederation. The Constitution simply changed the Government, it did not create a new country. It is the same way Libya/Iraq/Afghanistan got new forms of Government but did not cease to be a state.
mark, mark,mark. notice im not calling you sir,mr. or rep. because your obviously too ignorant to deserve such honor.its just baffles the hell out of me that you can have a seat in congress when you have’nt even read or are too stupid to understand the constitution. maybe when newt finally figures out he’s no smarter than you, ya’ll both can get a janitors job in some elementary school system so if you have to mop up puke in some history class, if you’ll listen carefully enough you just might learn something
Well, it’s over – a summary default judgement, AFTER THE ENTERING OF UNCHALLENGED EVIDENCE – is behind us. The wheels of Justice in Georgia has found that Obama is ineligible to be on their ballot as he is not (as found in their court) to be a natural born citizen.
What this means is that:
A) Obama loses 17 electoral votes before a ballot is even cast;
B) Other states are sure to follow in the footsteps of Georgia, and;
C) Now that evidence was entered, Obama will have to answer such evidence if he wants to have anything thrown out of court or be adjudicated.
Two things – one, stand by to stand by on this stuff, and two, Obama’s legal staff should be tarred and feathered for their malpractice.
